North Carolina has a rich golf heritage and growing golf industry. The
state offers golfers greater access to golf courses and resorts than
any competitive states, with North Carolina's diverse geography and
ideal climate making it an outstanding four-season destination.
The North Carolina Golf Marketing Alliance (NCGMA) is a non-profit
corporation created to undertake cooperative marketing to both domestic
and international markets of North Carolina as a golf destination. The
group's primary objective is to increase utilization of the state's
golf courses, resorts, convention centers and lodging facilities.
Currently, NCGMA members include golf course operators, resorts,
visitor bureaus, golf course associations, and others involved in
sports and economic development throughout North Carolina.
Operating as a strategic alliance, NCGMA utilizes a combination of
private and public funds to target golfers in specific geographic
markets and promote travel into and around North Carolina. NCGMA works
cooperatively with the North Carolina Division of Tourism, Film &
Sports Development to create and implement its programs.
