We hope you will make plans to join us for the next Destination Marketing Association of NC meeting.  Our meeting will be held at the Homewood Suites by Hilton - Davidson on January 14th and January 15th.  Our educational session will be on EmpowerMINT.

Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) has operated a convention/meetings data base service for members for years which many DMANC members have used at some time in their career, called MINT (Meeting Industry Network). During the last few years the system has been re-engineered and renamed and it’s our turn to learn first hand all about how EmpowerMINT (new name) works and why its success is so vital to the future of CVBs everywhere. Think of it as a virtual, national sales office that all CVBs and planners can use. This new approach will be broader reaching, designed to help medium and small size bureaus as well, so we encourage both the Bureau CEO and senior sales staff attend this important session.  In additional to presenting information, you will also be asked to participate in a group discussion that will better help DMAI understand what CVBs of all sizes need to compete in today’s marketplace, and how EmpowerMINT can be a vital tool.

Our own DMANC members Jeff Hewitt (Visit Charlotte) and Loren Gold (Greater Raleigh) serve on DMAI committees working on the improvements/re-launch of EmpowerMINT and will be attending our January meeting.  Along with them will be representatives from DMAI staff, most likely Christine Shimaski, the Managing Director of EmpowerMINT, and at least one other.  Please join us for a very important session that will give you a greater insight into the future of destination marketing.
